Our mobile banking app offers a host of convenient features and functionalities to enhance the banking experience for our customers - including our debit card holders.

  1. Secure Management: With just a few taps on your mobile device, you can view and manage your debit card details, including transaction history, balance, and available credit.
  2. Card Lock/Unlock: The app also allows you to lock or unlock your card instantly, providing an added layer of security in case it's misplaced or stolen.
  3. Control Spending Limit: You have the flexibility to set spending limits, transaction categories, or merchant restrictions to exercise greater control over your card usage. If you don’t have the app, download it through the Apple Store or Google Play Store.

Additionally, with our Digital Wallet service, you can now use your DFB Debit Card for payments with either Apple Pay (on iOS) or Google Pay™ (on Android) payment services! You can add your card to mobile wallets for convenient and secure contactless payments.

How do I activate my debit card?

To activate your new card, simply call the activation number that’s on the sticker on your new card from a phone number that we have on file for you (for verification and security purposes). If you have any problems you can contact the bank during regular business hours. If you need assistance after hours or on the weekend, you can also call 1-866-960-2261.

How do I set up a PIN for my debit card?

Call the number provided on your new card to first verify your identity from a phone number that we have on file for you (for verification and security purposes). You can then enter the PIN setup process and follow the instructions to choose or generate a PIN. Once you confirm the new PIN, you will receive confirmation the PIN setup process is complete and the PIN has been updated.

What should I do if I need to change my debit card PIN?

To change a PIN number you have to call from a phone number that we have on file for you (for verification and security purposes). You can also change your PIN at the ATM as well.

Why did my card get denied?

First, if you are at a merchant ask if they have any sort of an error code they can give you. While it’s certainly not common, your card may have been denied due to various reasons, including insufficient funds, an incorrect PIN, card expiration, specific transaction restrictions, suspected fraud, technical issues, or if you are using the card internationally without prior notification. You can contact us for specific details and assistance by calling the bank during office hours, or after hours you can call 1-866-960-2261 and we’re happy to help.

Are there any fees associated with using my debit card?

There are no fees to use your card when making a purchase, either as a signature-based or PIN-based transaction. But if you use an ATM other than one owned by Dream First Bank, there may be a fee charged by the bank, as well as by the ATM owner for your transaction. If you have a Dream Checking or Cash Back checking account (and meet the qualifications), the fee charged by Dream First Bank may be refunded. However, the fee charged by the ATM owner is your responsibility and may vary. Feel free to contact us or review your fee schedule for specific details regarding any fees associated with your debit card.

Can I link my debit card to mobile payment apps like Apple Pay or Google Pay?

What should I do if my debit card is lost or stolen?

If your debit card is lost or stolen, contact the bank immediately to report the loss or theft of your card. We’ll cancel your card and get a new one issued for you to prevent any unauthorized use. During business hours you can contact any Dream First Bank location. If it’s after hours or on the weekend, please call our 24-hour support line at 1-866-960-2261. We also recommend you monitor your account closely for any unauthorized transactions (online and mobile banking are great ways to do this) and report any suspicious transactions to the bank immediately.

Can I use my debit card internationally?

Yes, in most cases, you can use your debit card internationally without restrictions since Visa is accepted worldwide. However, we do suggest you check with us first and inform us of your travel plans so that we can verify international acceptance - and you can also add your travel plans to the mobile app as well. Be aware of foreign transaction fees and currency conversion charges. Ensure access to ATMs and take necessary card security precautions. Contact us immediately if you encounter any issues.

How do I dispute a transaction on my debit card statement?

Contact our customer service during regular banking hours by calling your nearest banking location. When calling, be sure to provide specific details about the disputed transaction. Follow our instructions for filling out any necessary forms or providing supporting documentation. If you need assistance after hours or on the weekends, you can contact us at 1-866-960-2261. Be sure to monitor your account for updates and keep records of all communication and documentation.

Can I use my debit card to make contactless payments?

For merchants that support contactless payments, your Dream First Bank debit card will give you the ability to “tap and go” to make a payment with ease. Look for the contactless payment symbol during your checkout process. 

What should I do if my debit card is damaged or not working?

If your debit card stops working correctly you can visit a Dream First Bank location or contact us for a replacement. We provide “instant issue” card replacement, so you’ll be able to walk out with your new card and begin using it immediately.

Can I request a replacement debit card?

We are able to “instant-issue” debit cards, so if you need to get a replacement card simply visit your nearest Dream First Bank or contact us and we’ll be happy to help and get you on your way.
