From One Bike Drive to a Year-Round Mission: Dream First Bank’s Bike Drive for Kids
There’s something special about a child’s first bike. It’s more than just two wheels. It’s independence, confidence, and the start of new adventures. And for some families, it’s something that isn’t always easy to access.
That’s exactly why Dream First Bank’s Bike Drive for Kids started in the first place.
Where It All Began
Back in 2022, our team launched a bike drive in Johnson with a simple goal: collect bikes and get them into the hands of kids in our community who needed them most.
The response was incredible. We collected a total of 31 bikes, both new and gently used. On enrollment day, we showed up with every single one of them ready to go, offering bikes to any family who needed one.
What we saw that day stuck with us. Smiles. Excitement. Gratitude. And kids riding off on what may have been their very first bike. It was one of those moments that remind you why community matters!
Bringing It Back, Bigger & Better
In 2025, we brought the bike drive back. Once again, it became an opportunity to help kids experience the simple joy of riding and the freedom that comes with it. And once again, our communities showed up in a big way.
But this time, it hit us in a new way. This couldn’t be limited to a single season. The need is there all year long, and we knew we needed to be there, too!
Now a Year-Round Mission
That’s why we’re excited to share that Dream First Bank’s Bike Drive for Kids is now an ongoing, year-round initiative.
Instead of limiting donations to the spring, we’re now accepting bikes all year long at all of our branch locations.
Because here’s the reality:
- Kids outgrow bikes at all times of the year
- Families face challenges year-round
- Opportunities to make a difference don’t follow a calendar
By making this an ongoing effort, we can collect more bikes, help more families, and create more of those unforgettable “first ride” moments.
More Than Just Bikes
At Dream First Bank, community has always been at the heart of everything we do. For more than a century, we’ve believed that being part of a place comes with a responsibility to strengthen it. That means doing far more than meeting financial needs.

We’re currently accepting:
- New bikes
- Gently used bikes in good condition
Simply drop off your donation at any Dream First Bank branch during business hours, and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll make sure it gets into the hands of a child who will truly appreciate it.
